Airlie Beach

Airlie beach is another one of those great places in Aus. that ppl like to come for their vacations.
It's on the eastern shore looking out to several islands just off the shore - many ppl bring their boats, kayaks and sea motorcycles to cruise between the many islands and catch fish.

We landed in a Big4 caravan park - which was very good. We saw an outdoor movie in the park - "Happy Feet" (the animation with the penguins) - they have a movie once a week out in the big screen there. While we were watching the film at night, a blip (!) with a huge advertising screen flew across the night sky above us. I thought only in sci-fi films you see such things...

Airlie beach has a huge man made lagoon with green grass all around it and we had a dip there too. We met our first Israelis at this place - they were a young couple with a 3 year old girl - they were 6 months in New Zealand and now they came here.
It was nice to talk to them and a little strange for meytar to met hebrew speaking folks.
