Port Augusta

port augusta is the southern gateway to the north when you want to cut through the middle of australia.
here are a few pics:

port germain (just before port augusta) holds the longest jetty in australia - we took a few sun set pics there and saw a few dolphins swimming there too


this is the jetty :
(the reason it is so long - 1.5Km is that the tide runs 1.5Km between morning and night)


one of many "salt seas" out in the outback - dried up lakes - a little similar to the dead sea.

port augusta's deset botanic gardens - this is the first place where the australian outback flys started to attack us (we are shewing them away with our hats)
